Amazon’s overall mission is simple: to be the place where customers can find, discover and buy anything online. Whatever customers want, Amazon will find the means to deliver it. With your help, Amazon will continue to enable people to discover new worlds and implement innovation. This is your chance to make history.
We are looking for a smart, team oriented, highly analytical individual to help grow our business. As Senior In-stock Manager for Consumables you will be responsible for leading a high performing function in supply chain (forecasting, replenishment, inventory management, customer availability) helping drive innovation growth, facilitating positive relationships externally with vendors and internally with peers and Amazon’s global technical teams, and supporting Consumables leadership. The Consumables product family covers a diverse selection of products that customers use regularly from health & beauty to grocery, pets and baby. We serve a wide range of customers, across multiple shopping formats including our established Core business and newer formats such as Prime Pantry, Prime Now and Amazon Fresh.
You will have a broad skill set including strong relationship management and negotiations skills, leadership development, analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for helping build an extraordinary shopping experience for Amazon’s customers. You must be willing to challenge the status quo in order to help improve existing workflows and processes to improve customer experience. You will work with vendors of all sizes and must have sufficient presence and communication skills to represent Consumables across departments.
You will coordinate key workflows across Consumables to drive automation adoption (‘Hands-off-the-Wheel’), integration into the EU network (Pan-EU Planning and European Fulfillment Network) monitor capacity and throughput constraints (Available Capacity ‘Gas Tank’ and Sales and Operations Planning), challenge inventory health (Optimal Inventory Health) and develop availability (to meet our one or two day ‘FastTrack’ delivery promise to customers) initiatives. Developing a relationship with technical partners outside of the UK in buying and inventory management systems (Supply Chain Optimization Technologies), you will shape the direction of the tools used in Consumables and assist with the rollout strategies. You will work with partners in Operations and Finance to identify and deliver cost-out initiatives by reducing defects in the physical supply-chain.
As the business evolves you will advise leadership on organizational requirements. Working with your counterparts in the other Product Families (Media, Hard-lines (e.g. Consumer Electronics), Soft-lines (e.g. Apparel)), you will be responsible for the general education and well-being of the entire In-stock Management (ISM) community, including contributing to the ISM recruitment strategy and execution.
