Job Description

Are you a "Find it, Fix it, Automate it, Never worry about it again" kind of engineer? Do you enjoy writing automation software or portals? Do you love integrating software? Do you have a passion for System Engineering, Linux, Python, Ruby or Java, and deep diving incredibly hard technical problems? Then, this is the role for YOU!

Your job will be to work with our Software Engineers, Database Engineers and System Engineers to operate our business, develop internal tools, and drive integration of new Redshift offerings to our customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 3-5+ years relevant work experience‚Ä®
  • 3-5+ years proficiency in any of Java, Ruby, Python, Perl or other DevOps oriented language
  • 3-5+ years of operating services and large geo-distributed systems
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and operating systems
  • Knowledge of various software technologies, methodologies and applied software engineering practices/standards such as OOD, SOAP, REST, Spring and AJAX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Be highly innovative, flexible and self-directed
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
  • Deep experience integrating software solutions, automating manual processes and/or building portals or internal tools
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch and operations of the project
  • Strong understanding of system and application performance characteristics
  • DevOps evangelist and zealot
